President Herzog Hosts Honduras President-Elect Asfura in Jerusalem, Joined by Senator Graham

On Sunday, January 18, 2026, President Isaac Herzog welcomed President-elect Nasry Asfura of Honduras to the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.

President Herzog congratulated President-elect Asfura on his election victory and thanked him for his commitment to deepening relations between Israel and Honduras. During their meeting, they discussed how to strengthen trade and cooperation between Israel and Honduras in a range of fields, including agriculture, technology, and tourism.

President Herzog and President-elect Asfura also held an unofficial meeting with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham at the President’s Residence, following President Herzog’s meeting with Senator Graham earlier today.

It was one of the first nations in the world to recognize Israel and to have an embassy in Jerusalem historically in those days.
