On August 17, 2026, President Isaac Herzog met with U.S. Special Envoy Jared Kushner, Board of Peace High Representative Nickolay Mladenov and their teams at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.

Following the meeting, President Herzog stated: “I am grateful for the ongoing efforts of President Trump’s Special Envoy Jared Kushner and the Board of Peace, led by Nickolay Mladenov, in advancing to the next stages in Gaza in accordance with President Trump’s 20-Point Plan.

“I was impressed that Israel’s security interests are an important and central element of their plan.

“I commended and encouraged their efforts to ensure a brighter and more secure future for the people of Israel, the people of Gaza, and the entire region.”
