President Herzog: “Israel must take its place at the forefront of artificial intelligence. This must be a critical component of our strategic outlook, one that serves to build Israel’s strength at home and abroad.”

On November 3, 2026, President Isaac Herzog convened the first session of the “Beyond Intelligence” forum, founded at the President’s initiative in partnership with the National AI Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Mosaic Institute for AI Policy.

The forum’s first session, attended by Head of the National AI Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office Erez Askal and Chairman of the Mosaic Institute Daniel Schreiber, focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on economic and social resilience, with an emphasis on the future of the labor market, economic security, and the link between work and income. The discussions addressed questions surrounding the future of employment, including how to ensure a dignified livelihood, shared prosperity, and fairness in the transition to a changing economic and employment reality.

Led by the President’s Chief of Staff, Adaya Leibovich Tobe, the forum aims to foster a sustained national dialogue on the future of humanity and society in the age of artificial intelligence, and to develop core principles for addressing the changes and challenges posed by technological progress. The forum will bring together representatives of government, academia, the business sector, and civil society for learning, values-based deliberation, and the development of a shared language on the issues that will shape the future of Israeli society.

President Isaac Herzog:

“It is clear to all of us that the world is undergoing a profound transformation. The world order is changing, technology is changing, and with it, humanity itself is changing. For the first time, we are encountering a tool with the potential to surpass our innate natural talents, and we are compelled to redefine our relationship to work, to learning, to education, to society, and to the very meaning of life.

“This forum is intended to bring together a wide range of voices, worldviews, and perspectives, and to allow all of you to speak freely, to challenge, to question, and to disagree. That is precisely why this house of study, ‘Beyond Intelligence,’ was established.

“Israel must take its place at the forefront of artificial intelligence. This train will not wait for us, and the whole world is looking our way. This must be a critical component of our strategic outlook, one that serves to build Israel’s strength at home and abroad.”
